over archipel

𝔸𝕣𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕡𝕖𝕝 is an artist-run arts workplace where residents can work on their own oeuvre in complete concentration. It is a unique, artistic collective workspace in an urban development area, on the former Engie Site at the Lobroekdok in Antwerp North. This extraordinary location and the transformation of the surrounding neighbourhood are an endless source of inspiration. The diversity of disciplines also ensures constant mutual inspiration.
In addition to the 50 or so permanent, super-diverse residents, the '𝔸𝕣𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕡𝕖𝕝𝕝𝕖𝕣𝕤' who create here from their various artistic disciplines, Archipel also welcomes guests. These individuals or organisations are given the space to work on new projects. Archipel initiates and supports social and artistic interventions through exhibitions, performances and debates, as well as by organising workshops and festivals.
𝔸𝕣𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕡𝕖𝕝 is not only a studio but also a place for growth and encounters, an inclusive learning space that builds bridges to the neighbourhood and city through participatory projects and experiments with politically inclusive models of collaboration. 𝔸𝕣𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕡𝕖𝕝 wants to be the driving force behind art and culture in the neighbourhood in the making and aims to establish itself there permanently.
