Kell Mertens
Anchored in the wonders of glass and driven by the harmony of creation, I find my home in the world of glass art. My journey as an artist is characterised by a deep passion for collages and assemblages, pushing the boundaries of possibility through glass. My work is a fusion of materials and techniques, with tin as my connecting thread and the Tiffany method as my guide.
Each piece I create reflects my love of nature and my spiritual journey. The organic shapes and vibrant colours that come to life in my work are a tribute to the majestic beauty of the natural world around us. Each piece tells a story, an ode to the power of nature and the deep-rooted connection we share with all living beings.
Recup art is at the heart of my practice, breathing new life into materials and reviving their stories. Every piece of glass I use has a past and a history, and by integrating them into my work, I give them a second chance to shine. It is my belief that art should not only inspire, but also be sustainable, carrying a message of hope and renewal in a world that craves change.
In addition to creating my own art, I cherish the opportunity to share my knowledge and passion through workshops. By inspiring and guiding others on their own artistic journeys, I hope to cultivate a community of creativity and connection. For in the world of glass and art, there is no greater joy than sharing our visions and building a more colourful and enchanting future together.
May my work be a source of joy and wonder, a reminder of the beauty that lies in the simplicity of life and the power of creativity to unite us in a world of possibilities.
