James Lethbridge Glass

Initially, he pursued a career in ceramics production and immersed himself in the manufacturing processes involved. In 2003, Lethbrigde was drawn to the study of glass. This was a life-changing moment, because not long after, glass became his material of choice. Fascinated by the transparency and fluid nature of molten glass, the repetitive process quickly turned into a more experimental one.

In 2005, Lethbridge enrolled at the Royal College of Art, where he learned many glassmaking techniques and his work also took on a larger volume. This gave him greater confidence and belief in his chosen art practice. Since graduating, Lethbridge has gained a reputation for his unique artworks. He has created both sculptural and luminous works.

Lethbridge's inventive approach makes his artworks instantly recognisable.

His artworks often contain a multitude of glass thorns, shards and tendrils. Lethbridge still creates repetitive work, but now with a completely different approach and result.
