Alec De Bruyn (Antwerp) is a musician, composer and sound designer. He divides his various interests across different projects: in bands as a musician and performer, as a composer for theatre and as a sound designer for film and audiovisual projects. And usually these separate functions overlap.

He has released several albums with Undskyld, plays as a musician in various collectives and is working on the first releases of his new project, The Payola Kid. He has often collaborated with theatre groups Zonzo Compagnie, ROESTgroep, kunstZ and Rataplan, and with filmmakers Adams Mensah, Tom Viaene and Mario Leko. He is currently engaged in artistic research and collaborations with specific artists, such as Miroslav Kochanek and Charlotte Goesaert.

Alec runs the artists' initiative Dingen die niet verkopen (Things that don't sell) together with Amber De Saeger and Lodewijk Heylen. This space in the centre of Antwerp offers a place for experiments, exhibitions, try-outs and performances by creators in all artistic disciplines.
