BabelFestival is a free summer festival, aan de BabelBühne, a green oasis in the fringes of the city, with a bamboo stage, tribune & lignets around a well.
On Friday evenings, young curators and their artists hijack the site with Urban Sounds, vocal beatboxes & beats, while the cooking pots smell of spices from all over the world.
Program starts at 7.30 pm.

He brings streetlife on stage, expect a cocktail of fresh violence.
During his Chapp de Mic sessions, vulnerable young people get a voice, he does this by literally letting them grab the mic and coaching them in writing lyrics and making beats.

AkB(Angel King Boss), institution child from his toddler years, discovered the passion for music in juvenile detention.
Despite the fact that AkB still faces many challenges, he continues to work on his music. Yeboah Asiam aka AKB is the soul & heart of Chapp de Mic. Rap, HipHop and Slam are his refuge and outlet, in which he manages to channel his anger and fears. He releases three projects in 1 year with more than 17 singles.
He also coaches other young people who grow up in the same situation as him and offers them studio opportunities. In this way he tries to share his expertise and offer them a future perspective.
No one is alone, even if it sometimes seems that way!
He wants to share that in his music.
Flow 9000aka Julian Saow is a singer - songwriter from Ghent (Belgium) with West African roots (Ghana).
"Flow" is one of the few rappers who describes themselves as free, honest and eager to get the message across to anyone with a set of speakers.
He is known for creating witty lyrical content in which he reflects how he feels about the current state of the streets, daily life or in which he has fun, aiming to reveal the truth in a very direct way.
Moraneis a singer-songwriter from Antwerp with African roots. After graduating from the Kunsthumaniora, she decided to put her passion for music first. Her sound is a mix of jazz, neo-soul, hip-hop and R&B.
She announced her solo career with her first single, Boo, which was released in January 2020. In the meantime she released 7 releases within two projects called CDR (Connecting-Disconnecting-Reconnecting) and TO GET HER.
Karopopior Karolina Popiolek was born in Poland and moved to Belgium when she was five. She started singing when she was six, first covers, but now she has been making her own music for three years. She recently released her first single - What if.
